Partners in Care, a community-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is committed to enabling older adults to remain independent in their homes and engaged in the community. It is an almost-all-volunteer organization and has provided service to literally thousands of older adults at four sites in Maryland.
A grant of $18,000 was awarded to support the Ride Partners Program in Anne Arundel County. A major component of the program is access to health care. Volunteers use their own cars to provide no-monetary-cost rides for trips to doctor visits, hospitals, pharmacies and other destinations as well as provide other one-on-one, personācentered services to seniors.
