West Virginia External Quality Review Organization (EQRO)

Qlarant, as the EQRO for the state’s Medicaid managed care program, designed and implemented the state’s first managed care quality improvement programs. Qlarant conducts focused studies and compliance assessments of managed care plans. In addition, Qlarant performs on-site administrative review and applies standards adapted to West Virginia regulations to evaluate HMO organizational functions. Each year, Qlarant reviews medical records to assess the quality of care provided to Medicaid beneficiaries. This contract assists the state in meeting federal requirements for the waiver program.
