Regina Knox Woods is Vice President, Government Affairs for the District of Columbia at MedStar Health. As Vice President, Ms. Woods is an industry leader known for excellence in representation on advocacy issues, organizational development, and in developing strategies and tools to help provide better care to the patients and communities served.  With a wealth of experiences to draw upon in strategic communications and external affairs in both the public and private sectors, Ms. Woods is responsible for creating and building a political and grassroots network with a proven record of influential and effective advocacy.  She used this network to bring together the leadership of the DC Hospital Association to avert a tax levy contemplated that would have resulted in the loss of millions of dollars in patient care in city hospitals.

Ms. Woods contributes her expertise to the following Boards:  Georgetown Business Improvement District, DC Ombudsman’s Advisory Committee, and is Co-Chair of Ward 4 Health Advisory Committee.  She holds a BA Degree in English from Dickinson College; a Master’s in Organizational Communication from Howard University; Certificate of Achievement in Financial Management from the Wharton School of Business; and Certificate of Leadership from Georgetown University.  She is also a member of Leadership Greater Washington Class of 2000.
