Dr. Gerald completed his undergraduate education at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, graduated from Howard University School of Medicine, and completed a family medicine residency from Freedmens-Howard University Hospital. He also obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health and Hygiene. He is currently President and CEO of Gerald Family Care in the Washington, D.C. and Maryland areas, as well as G&G Family Care in North Carolina.

During his distinguished medical career, Dr. Gerald served on the board of the American Academy of Family Physicians for three years and has received numerous outstanding awards and recognition for his service, contributions, and altruism for humanity.
