Easton, MD, June 18, 2015 – The Board of Directors of Quality Health Strategies, Inc. (QHS) announced on June 17, 2015 that the company’s current President and Chief Operating Officer, Ronald G. Forsythe, PhD is appointed as Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Forsythe has been functioning as the senior leader for the organization prior to the board decision.

Created in 2007, QHS is the parent company to Health Integrity, Delmarva Foundation, and the Quality Health Foundation with a focus on improving health services and programs. Health Integrity is dedicated to protecting the fiscal and clinical integrity of health care systems in Medicare, Medicaid, and the private sector by detecting fraud, waste, and abuse in the programs. Delmarva Foundation works with state and federal programs to ensure the highest quality of services and innovations designed to transform health through quality assurance, external quality review, and the Population Health Center. The Quality Health Foundation is the mission arm of QHS and, since 2006, has awarded grants totaling more than $3.66 million to 55 organizations in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

“The decision was unanimous and is effective immediately,” said Dr. Catherine Smoot-Haselnus, QHS Board Chair. “Ron has been instrumental in improving operational efficiencies, enhancing financial returns, developing business strategy and working collaboratively with Sandy Love, President of Health Integrity and Bob Foley, Interim President of Delmarva Foundation to assure a positive climate to grow business development opportunities.”

Dr. Forsythe was hired in 2012 as Chief Operating Officer and was promoted to President and COO in 2014. Prior to joining QHS, Ron worked in progressively more responsible senior leadership positions at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore including Vice President for Planning, Assessment, Technology & Commercialization where he established new academic programs, expanded research capacity, led fundraising initiatives and enhanced technology infrastructure and support. His academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware, and both a master’s degree and doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland College Park.

“The Board is confident that, with this appointment, QHS now has both the leadership and the staff to build on its existing strengths and develop in directions that will ensure future sustainability and growth,” said Smoot-Haselnus.

“I look forward to beginning this new chapter and continuing our mission of Creating Solutions to Transform Health,” said Forsythe. “The associates and leadership of QHS, Delmarva Foundation, and Health Integrity are some of the most-dedicated people in their fields of expertise. I know that the company will continue to move forward ensuring the highest quality of service to the community.”
