The grant funds the Access to Healthcare for the Uninsured and Indigent Program which creates an atmosphere of dignity and respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, or religion. According to Grant Manager, Cheryl Haire, “The Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett’s mission is to demonstrate the love of Christ in word and deed by providing affordable, quality primary medical and dental care, and medication assistance to the poor and uninsured families in our community. At Good Sam Gwinnett, our commitment to our founding mission and purpose is unwavering. We provide a holistic approach to health care, delivering integrated high-quality primary and preventative medical and dental services, pharmaceutical assistance, referral, and health education programs. We aim to create an atmosphere of dignity and respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, or religion. By providing linguistically and culturally appropriate care, we help patients move from perpetual self-need to self-sustaining independence.”

Qlarant Foundation’s funds will provide support for operating costs related to providing pediatric and adult medical and dental services in the Access to Healthcare for the Uninsured and Indigent program. 60% of their patients have multiple chronic illnesses.

Good Samaritan Building“We are seeing an increase in patients seeking care for chronic conditions (Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Asthma) and dental care (tooth decay, oral trauma),” continued Haire. “Patients are putting off seeing a doctor or are unsure how to access the American health system and are experiencing out-of-control blood pressure, high H1C levels, uncontrolled asthma, oral pain, and tooth decay (#1 chronic disease among children, CDC 2024).”

“Our patients come to us with complex medical and dental needs; many never having seen a healthcare provider. We meet them right where they are. Our Clinics align with Qlarant’s mission by removing inequitable barriers for the uninsured and those experiencing poverty to receive medical and dental direct services in NE Metro Atlanta, ensuring health improvement in individuals and their communities.”
