Margaret (Maggi) Gallaher, MD, MPH

Maggie Gallaher

Dr. Gallaher previously served as Medical Director for the Public Health Division of the New Mexico Department of Health where she spent over 20 years working in areas including: access to care, services for children with special health care needs, family planning, injury prevention and communicable disease prevention.

Dr. Gallaher earned her bachelor’s and medical degree from the University of Maryland and a Master’s in Public Health, with an emphasis in Health Services, from the University of Washington. She completed residencies in both Pediatrics and Preventive Medicine and served as a pediatrician for four years with the Indian Health Service. She also provided volunteer pediatric clinical services to indigent children (1990-1993), was Preceptor for the University of New Mexico Primary Care and Family Practice Programs (1993-1997), was a Clinical Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at the University of New Mexico (1996-1998) and was an Acting Instructor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington (1998-2000).
